Four Centennials!

This post is to celebrate the four hundredth view of this blog. Whoever comes next is very, very lucky!
Anyways, most of you must be wondering why I changed the background of my blog. An elephant? Why? Elephants have nothing to do with "Fun Stuff!" I placed this new background....why? Figure it out through this puzzle:

The most common letter.
Take out the "D" in a three letter word and get a close pronunciation.
Together with the letter before it, it is a ray.
A word and letter.
Can be pronounced with an entire word.
The twenty fifth letter in this puzzle.
Ξ is the counterpart for the letter. It is from a  European language.
The letter after a letter consisting of three lines.
The first letter in a bird of prey.
A "V" with an extra line.
Three fourths of the 16th last letter of the alphabet.

Ready? Here's the next part:

The first letter in a word for a place where we store money.
The second most common letter.
With an "r" at the end of it, it makes the name of a Hindi movie.
It may have a dot, maybe not.
It came twice already.
Same pronunciation as the first word in a phrase that is:"used to express mild surprise, amazement, or enthusiasm."

And finally:

Informal way of calling someone.
Can be written with straight or curved lines.
First letter in a homogenous mixture we feel all the time.
First letter in a word given to people who drive fast.
The first letter in Einstein's most famous equation.
The first letter in the name of a country, that has, obviously, been found recently; or so the name implies.
First letter,Second word of a committee that talks about eggs.
The last letter in a snake's onomatopoeia.
The First letter of a board game in India. In America, this fist word is replaced by "Chutes."

HINT: Each sentence describes a letter in a tricky fashion.
