All right, we've all heard about Racism, Religious Discrimination, and all sorts of stuff. But a new trend thats popping up in our school is what I've decided to call
SPORTISM.
Apparently, the "in" thing for our school is to make every other sport seem useless in front of Basketball and Running. The running takes place proudly in front of all the parents, while the Basketball winners win a gold medal and trophy. While all the time the swimmers and soccer players sit on the side, unrecognized, the Unsung Heroes. Thanks for that name, VEeR.
Of course, I did win first place in swimming for two years, but who cares? We don't even receive our medals in front of the parents. The school organizes a rather sheepy assembly where we get the medals. Most parents don't even know that there are more children who have done just as well, just in other sports.
